Using Vital

Terms of service

Effective September 7, 2026

These terms describe use of the Vital Health public website, private web journal and Android companion, operated as a personal project by Manny Herrera. Contact: osmany.m.herrera@gmail.com.

Personal access

Vital is maintained for its owner's adult personal use. Publishing information about Vital does not offer public registration or grant access to the private journal. Use only an account and health information you are authorized to access. Do not attempt to bypass access controls or interfere with the service.

Personal tracking, not medical care

Vital provides recordkeeping, visualizations and editable tracking goals. It is not a medical device, diagnostic service, treatment provider or emergency service. Calorie estimates, fasting schedules and activity records may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not replace qualified medical advice. Seek professional advice about health decisions and urgent assistance in an emergency.

Your information and connected services

You retain your rights in information you enter. Vital processes it to provide the features you choose, as described in the Privacy policy. You control permissions for connected health services and can revoke access. Google, Health Connect, Open Food Facts and hosting services have their own terms and availability constraints. Vital is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google or Fitbit.

Accuracy and availability

Measurements and food catalogue information may contain errors or arrive late. Device permissions, sign-in expiry, battery restrictions and network conditions can interrupt syncing. The app is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted service or complete data. Export important records and verify values when accuracy matters. Features may change or be discontinued.

Fees and distribution

Vital currently offers no paid subscription or public app service. Domain registration, hosting, devices and third-party services may have their own charges. Installing the Android companion does not grant access to the owner's private account.

Ending use and updates

You can stop using Vital, revoke health permissions and delete your records using the controls described in the privacy policy. These terms may change as the project changes; the current version and effective date are published here. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
